A Walk on the Shore

I was walking down the beach one afternoon on the month of December 2009. As I walked, I remember the times when I was still so little that my mom would take me on this beach early morning to race with her or run towards her trying to catch her with all my might.

Just sitting on the beach, watching as the waves rushes to the shore, feeling the cool breeze caressing your face, and knowing that you're the only one around brings you the feeling of 'serenity'. What a nice feeling. :)

As I was walking barefooted, feeling the sand on my feet, I saw few stuff drifted into the shore. I so wonder where these things came from. Maybe from a boat that sinked, from the nearby houses, from the people who used the beach, or from somewhere else. Nobody knows.

I just love our town's beach. Less rocks that can hurt your feet, pure fine sand, plenty of fishes, and clear water. Nothing beats your own. :)

The Sungka

Sungka is a traditional Filipino Game played by two participants. The object of the game is to amass stones or cowrie shells in your home base (bahay) by continuously distributing the shells around lesser holes until you run out of shells to distribute. The person who collects the most shells in his/her bahay wins.

This sungka-an was bought many years ago and is now displayed in our living room. I used to play with this sungka with my cousins long time ago when we were still kids but as we grew older, it only became a display figure in our home. As you can see, there are also cowrie shells which are used to play sungka. Those shells were pretty shiny and smooth to touch. :)

Just Another Kitty Cat

the cutest thing

I just love seeing cats and dogs do their 'stick the tongue out' thing. They really look so cute and cuddly when they do that. :)

Cats and dogs are my favorite pets. We have them back in our hometown.

Just like this kitty, I had one before back when I was still in high school. They have same color and appearance. The only difference is that I raised that kitty unlike this one. I used to carry him everywhere I go, feed him, bathe him, even put him in the cradle to sleep. I treated him like a baby and named him 'Miming'. Unfortunately, when I came home from school one day, they told me he died already due to unknown cause. He was unlike any other cat. He's special.

On the other hand, this kitty wanders everywhere and was luckily adopted by my grandpa. Guess he's born to be a model -- he likes to pose and doesn't run away whenever the camera shoots at him even on close up unlike our other scaredy cats.

Me and my mom went to Tacloban City for her school work. It would only take 3 hours (by bus/car/motorcycle) for us to get there from our hometown, Hinundayan, Southern Leyte. After doing what she had to do, we stop by the church. These are the few shots I got. Enjoy! :)

Tennis is My Game

I started playing Lawn Tennis when I was only 6 years old. My parents were tennis players so no wonder I would inherit their skills. :)

I could still remember my very first time to hold a tennis racquet. T'was quiet heavy and I couldn't hit a single ball. My first swing, racquet back, forehand and backhand swings, top spins, and chops. I so miss playing it. I could only play tennis whenever I go home to my hometown in Hinundayan, Southern Leyte. The town's tennis court is located in the Rizal Park.

Hopefully this coming August when I get home, I could play there again with my favorite opponent, my mom. :) She's always been my best opponent. We always had a close fight. I miss her.

Best thing about this game is I never get tired of playing it. It makes me express what I feel, run 'til my last breath, swing like I've never swing before. And it gives me the best exercise. ;)

Turtles in CinemaScope

These turtles were found by my grandfather in our backyard pond. There are lots of them and my grandpa caught around twenty of them using a bamboo basket. He placed them in our unused mini fish pond. We feed them any kinds of fruits most commonly banana, mango, and papaya. I just hope when I get home, I can still see them for how much they have grown and have increased in number.

These photos were edited using picnik.com. I applied the 'cinemascope effect' in both photos so they appeared like that.

These sweet, chewy candies were bought from London by my uncle and brought it to Leyte last December 2009. It was indeed very sweet, chewy, and yummy candies. Too bad it's already gone. I so miss it. Hope to have them again next Christmas. ;)

Kai Love CEBU Design

This design was inspired by Islands Souvenir's shirt. The fonts are different but if you look at it from afar, it looks similar. I made this for the purpose of making it as a background template for my karenveloso.com blog using picnik.com, but unfortunately it doesn't fit or it doesn't look good rather.

Basically, I just want to share it with you. :)
